| “Off the Cuff” would like to invite you to a very special evening on Sunday 18th of May at the British Crown Hotel, 14-16 Smith Street Collingwood from 6pm to Celebrate the Music of our friend and pianist, musical director Warren Hall.
When we think of the music industry we think of the big names, U2, The Stones, Madonna, Clapton etc. but forget the 1000’s of guys and girls who provide the entertainment backdrop of our day to day existence. The piano player in the corner, the duo at the local bar, the band playing at your wedding or favourite pub; these musicians are not making the mega bucks of the big name celebrities but they keep on working at their craft passionately doing something they love whilst providing a great service to their community. Warren is one of these guys, not a household name but much loved and respected in blues and rock n roll circles.
Many of you know that Warren had a big battle with cancer a few years back which he overcame in typical Woz fashion. However, things have taken a turn for the worse recently and he will again need to take a break from performing to put all his energy into getting back to good health. Before this happens we have arranged this special one off performance with Warren and have invited a few friends who have been a part of his musical journey to join us on stage throughout the evening. Bronnie Gordon and Dutch Tilders jumped at the chance to get up again with Woz and a couple of good old “Off the Cuffers” Captain Lou, Lou Toth and Mal Beveridge are back with the band for the evening.
So come and celebrate with us at the British Crown and give Warren your support, apart from anything else this is going to be a great evening of music and mayhem.
There will be a gold coin entry fee and donation.
More artists to be announced, they are lining up to play at this special gig and maybe not all of the guests will get to play due to time and space, but we will certainly give it a go….. so stay tuned
