MBAS hosts regular blues jam sessions
giving local blues artists the chance to gain recognition and
experience in front of an audience, or just have some fun. We
host:
Every Tuesday a feature artist (solo or band) performs prior to the jam. (See below for upcoming jam night feature artists).
It also provides a networking and social ground for aspiring and
established blues musicians to mingle, and exchange ideas and

Rules
for the jam nights:
- Musicians will
do a 3-song set unless specified.
- The 3-song set will take no longer
than 20 minutes unless specified by the Committee.
- An act can do a set as a band/solo
if pre-organised with a Committee Member before the date
of the jam.
- The Musicians must take care of MBAS
equipment. Failing to do so can result in banishment or
asked to pay for damages.
- Only musicians asked to do the set
will be on-stage unless specified by MBAS.
- Musicians are asked to bring guitar
amps, drum sticks and any equipment not supplied by MBAS.
- If there are any disputes, MBAS Committee
has the right to ban or reprimand the person/s.
- The MBAS has the right to ask musicians
to turn down the volume if too loud.
- The MBAS person in charge of the jam
has the last say regarding sets and has the right to refuse
musicians who are too intoxicated to play.
- Blues music should only be music played
on stage, after all, we are a blues society.
- Change over time between sets should
be as swift as possible or time will be taken away from
sets.
