Feature act: JOHN WILLIAMS BAND
JOHN WILLIAMS is an innovative master in electric Blues, featuring jaw dropping guitar licks and scorching slide riffs. John has enjoyed a long and illustrious career which has seen him tour with The Yardbirds, Tom Jones, The Animals, Eric Burdon, Roy Orbison, The Walker Bros, The Easybeats, and Jimmy Page. Recipient of a 2015 Vic/Tas Blues Award for Best Debut Blues Album, this NZ-born performer was also inducted into the NZ Music Hall of Fame in 2020, and soon after formed a powerhouse Blues trio with world class musicians.
Teaming up with ROBERT B DILLON – one of the best drummers in the business with a long multi-awarded career in both live performance and recording, and GARY GUS WHELAN – a passionate bass player, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Together, the trio recorded their album “470 Northern Highway Blues”, which was a finalist the 2023 Vic/Tas Blues Awards. The John Williams Blues Band are a popular returning feature act at MBAS.
