House of Blues - Tues Apr 14th

GREENHATCH BLUES (TRIO)BLUES JAM NIGHT

Feature act: GREENHATCH BLUES (TRIO)

GREENHATCH BLUES delivers timeless tunes from the Mississippi Delta, Texas, Chicago, and the highways in between.

In 1983, a young LUKE GREENHATCH heard news of Muddy Waters' passing when PBS played 3 tracks to mark the occasion. First Muddy, then BB, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Spellbound by their passionate playing, this moment proved pivotal, setting Luke on a journey home to The Blues.  Luke soon discovered local Blues jams, including MBAS, which led to the formation of duos with Stibbo Hanger and Nicole Nehemia, and later, a trio with Liam Kealy and Neil Richardson. Recording with Rob Hornbuckle and legendary Hammond player, Mick 'The Rev' O'Connor proved an unforgettable experience.

Watching Greenhatch, you hear references to bluesmen of old. By avoiding well-worn licks, audiences sense authenticity in Luke's delivery. With pain and pleasure in his pocket, Greenhatch bares his soul. 40+ years after losing Muddy, Luke is switching younger generations on to old-school blues at venues across Victoria. On this occasion, Luke is joined by dynamic drummer DEAN CONSTABLE and legendary bass player PETER BEULKE.
