Feature act: JUSTIN YAP TRIO

JUSTIN YAP TRIO is led by guitarist and singer Justin Yap, known for his soulful and dynamic performances, and currently also performing with Rambal and Nardia band lineups. Justin and Nardia recently took home top honors at the 2024 MBAS Blues Challenge and made it to the finals of the prestigious International Blues Challenge, performing at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, USA, in January 2025. 

 Over the past decade, Justin has honed his craft alongside some of Australia's most respected blues artists, sharing the stage with luminaries such as Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking, Lachy Doley, Lloyd Spiegel, Cass Eager, Jesse Valach, and Frank Sultana. As a core member of Rambal, he has performed at many of Australia’s most iconic venues and festivals, including The Corner Hotel, Northcote Social Club, Queenscliff Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach (QLD), Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival, Girrakool Blues Festival (NSW), Mitchell Creek Blues & Rock Festival (QLD), and Winter Blues Festival (VIC/ NSW), among many others. 

 In 2017, the Justin Yap Band was honored with the Group of the Year award at the Australian Blues Music Awards. Now fronting his own trio, Justin continues to showcase his passion for the blues, blending influences from New Orleans funk, blues rock, and the legends of the genre. His music reflects both the rich history of blues and his own fresh take on the tradition, earning him a devoted following and critical acclaim.
