KALIOPI & THE BLUES MESSENGERS have just celebrated their 2nd anniversary headlining the International Women’s Day Blues Music Festival presented by Double Trouble Blues Sessions – 12 months along from celebrating their 1st anniversary performing at the 2023 St Kilda Blues Festival. Since launching the band at the Glenmaggie Blues & Roots Festival two years ago, Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers have steadily been building an audience, and their their recent debut album ‘Blues For Minnie’ has received international recognition, validating reviews and festival invitations. The album features two originals, one Koko Taylor homage, and seven Memphis Minnie selections.

Drawing from the great Delta Blues tradition of powerful blues women, Kaliopi & the Blues Messengers debut single in December 2022 'When the Levee Breaks’, was dedicated to the people of Northern Rivers and Lismore floods, and followed with their single. 'Troublin' Blues' in March 2023. In May last year the band also released a 3-track EP, 'Highway #9 Studio Sessions' including ‘Kissing in the Dark’.
