GEOFF ACHISON has a longstanding deep connection and association with the MBAS and hardly needs introducing to Blues fans.
From Melbourne to Memphis, this multi-award winning, highly honoured Australian Blues/Roots artist has thrilled audiences around the world with his dynamic Blues playing and gutsy solo arrangements for 30 years. Geoff first arrived on the scene in the late 1980’s playing lead guitar with enigmatic Australian Blues performer Dutch Tilders. After several years with Dutch, Geoff took his music overseas competing at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA where he won the 'Albert King Award' and was offered an endorsement deal with Gibson Guitars.
He temporarily relocated to London UK in the late 90’s and successfully established himself on the British touring circuit. He also returned to the US to take advantage of industry opportunities there. He moved to Atlanta Georgia and toured relentlessly over a period of years before settling back in Australia. He continues to record and tour internationally.
A highly regarded guitarist, singer and songwriter, Geoff is equally adept at acoustic and electric
styles and is an all-round performer who delights in entertaining the audience with his wry sense of humor. A multitude of celebrated albums under his belt reveals sounds firmly steeped in the Blues, but with and injection of Funk, Soul, Jazz and even Classical styles into the mix.
Geoff continues to be a driving force on the Aussie Blues/Roots scene, inspiring and influencing many of his younger compatriots and thrilling audiences along the way.
