SIMON KINNY-LEWIS is one of the new breed of Blues guitarists making his mark worldwide. He takes the audience with him on a seismic journey of compelling Blues guitar – along with a voice that Steve Lukather (guitarist Toto, Michael Jackson, Ringo Starr) describes as being similar to American Blues star Joe Bonnamassa.
Simon’s own original brand of contemporary Blues and Rock has created a loyal fan-base of guitar enthusiasts around the globe. He has performed and recorded with highly regarded musicians such as Chris Cain, Anton Davidyants, Nate Ginsberg (Herbie Hancock’s band), Christian Howes, Simeon Cain (Henry Rollins Band) and many more. He has produced 6 albums to date with his debut acoustic Blues solo album “Catfish” reaching #1 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts. His debut SKL Band album “Bad Whisky” has also been released featuring Australian Guitar Legend Brett Garsed (John Farnham).
Simon is a regular performer at Australia’s biggest festivals including The Australian Blues Music Festival, Thredbo Blues Fest, Sydney Guitar Show, Gympie Muster, Manly Jazz Fest, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival, Bluestone Blues – and many more. He has performed countless shows in California (2017/2018) with US Blues legend Chris Cain and with Chris' band Dwayne Pate (Robben Ford, Steve Lukather), Nate Ginsburg (Herbie Hancock) and Tony Boyd (SKL Band). His most recent recording is a brand new Blues album “A Day In San Jos ” featuring his Californian Band due for release in 2019.
LARKIN POE – the American Blues-Rock band brought to our shores by Bluesfest and on tour performing their gritty, soulful, southern heritage style in Melbourne and Sydney. Led by Rebecca & Megan Lovell – the singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist sisters creating their own brand of Roots Rock 'n' Roll, flavoured by their southern heritage. Originally from Atlanta and currently living in Nashville, they are descendants of tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Alan Poe. In 2014 the sisters debuted with “KIN” and they quickly established themselves as a singular new sound in Roots Rock. The MBAS are thrilled to be hosting an exclusive live onstage Interview/Q&A appearance with Larkin Poe at the MBAS House of Blues – on straight after the feature act (and before the start of the Jam).
