BLUES JAM NIGHT

Feature act: CRAIG BRACKEN (NZ) with ADAM WALDRON BAND

CRAIG BRACKEN is the voice, harmonica and heart of THE FLAMING MUDCATS – Auckland's most celebrated contemporary blues band. He began singing and playing harmonica in the late 1980s, drawn in by Chicago and West Coast blues greats like Little Walter, William Clarke, and Junior Parker, alongside deep influences in Soul and Rhythm & Blues.

Before becoming a Mudcat in 2009, Craig honed his craft through Auckland's club circuit, developing the distinctive vocal style and horn-inflected harmonica playing that now defines the band's sound. He is equally at home on lead vocals, diatonic harmonica, chromatic harmonica, and tenor saxophone — often weaving melodic horn lines to enrich and colour the band's arrangements.

"It's all about the groove" says Craig – a philosophy that has guided the Flaming Mudcats from Auckland pub stages to the famous clubs of Chicago's Halsted Street, the blues venues of Austin, Texas, and festival stages of the USA, Australia, Samoa, and Fiji. Craig has also performed as a solo artist at venues across California, cementing his reputation as one of the Southern Hemisphere's finest blues voices. For his MBAS debut appearance, Craig is joined by the roots grooves of Melbourne’s 4-piece ADAM WALDRON BAND.

Attendees are encouraged to pre-book for table seating to ensure a place. Please 'BOOK' a single or multiple (Group**) ticket below.

**NOTE: LARGE GROUPS wishing to book (eg greater than 9 attendees seated together), will need to make multiple separate bookings as the system only allows 9 at a time. When making more than one separate booking, to ensure your group is seated together or in close table proximity, please make a note of the name of lead booking person and total numbers in the ‘Preferred Seating’ field (eg John Smith’s table - total 12 attendees).

WHILE GUARANTEED TABLE SEATING ALLOCATION FOR THIS EVENT IS CAPPED, ONCE TABLE BOOKINGS ARE EXHAUSTED/CLOSED, WE STILL WELCOME WALKUPS FOR GENERAL ADMISSION NON-ALLOCATED SEATING (IF AVAIL) AND LIMITED STANDING ROOM.
