Feature act: Ian Collard  

IAN COLLARD is one of Australia’s Premier Blues Artists. As a founding member of the ARIA Award-winning blues trio Collard Greens & Gravy, singer and harmonica virtuoso Ian Collard has cemented his place as one of Australia’s leading blues musicians. In 2024 Ian was inducted into the Blues Music Victoria, Blues Hall of Fame. Most recently, Collard Greens and Gravy’s latest album “Boogaloo Sauce” won both Album of the Year, and Song of the Year at the 2025 MBAS VICTAS Blues Music Awards.

Drawn to the harmonica from an early age, Ian was captivated by the sounds of blues legends like Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Sonny Terry, setting him on a lifelong path in music. 

With Collard Greens & Gravy, Ian has earned widespread acclaim, winning multiple awards, including an ARIA for Best Blues & Roots Album for their 2001 USA. Since forming in 1995, they have released six award-winning albums, each solidifying their status in the blues scene. 

Beyond his work with Collard Greens & Gravy, Ian is also a key member of The Backsliders, one of Australia’s top blues bands. Their latest album, "Starvation Box", was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Release. His unmistakable harmonica sound has also graced recordings by Clare Bowditch, Jeff Lang, and Ash Grunwald. A true artist who pushes musical boundaries, Ian even performed with the Australian Ballet in 2012, lending his voice and harmonica to their 50th-anniversary celebration in "Ballet Sweet Dee Dee". 

Whether on stage or in the studio, Ian Collard continues to define and elevate the Australian blues scene.
