YOUTH IN BLUES is a FREE program initiative of the MBAS, held annually since 2005, to encourage the next generation of Blues musicians. The Youth in Blues Program aims to help budding young Blues musicians and vocalists gain confidence and experience with the guidance and mentorship of established Blues musicians and music industry professionals.
The 2019 Youth in Blues Program expert music industry/professional musician mentors are : Wayne Jury (facilitator/co-ordinator) with Sam Buckley (guitar), Sweet Felicia (bass & songwriting), Andrea Marr (singing) and the shared broad experience of previous MBAS Youth in Blues graduate and Youth in Blues ambassador, Charlie Bedford.
Youth in Blues offers young people a place to develop their musical talent and build their performance confidence in a fun, encouraging, supportive learning environment with like-minded Blues music supporters.
The 5-session Program culminates in a Concert Showcase finale for the participants' family, friends and all Blues music lovers wishing to support our upcoming young Blues stars, playing live in front of an audience!
